Analyze MOPA pulsed laser cleaning technology

Laser cleaning is an emerging material surface cleaning treatment technology that can replace traditional pickling, sandblasting and high-pressure water gun cleaning. Laser cleaning machine using portable cleaning head and fiber laser, flexible transmission, good control, wide application of materials, high efficiency, good effect, in recent years in rail transit, petroleum and petrochemical, automotive mold and other fields have been more and more widely used.

The essence of laser cleaning is to use the characteristics of laser high energy density to destroy the pollutants attached to the surface of the substrate without damaging the substrate process. According to the optical characteristics of the substrate and pollutants to be cleaned, the laser cleaning mechanism can be divided into two categories: one is to use the difference in the absorption rate of the laser energy of a certain wavelength between the pollutant and the substrate, so that the laser energy is fully absorbed by the pollutant, so that the pollutant is heated and expanded or vaporized. The other is that there is little difference in the laser absorption rate of the substrate and pollutants, and the pulse laser with high frequency and high power is used to impact the surface of the object, and the shock wave makes the pollutants burst and break away from the substrate surface.

Rust removal, paint removal, oil removal and oxidation removal of metal surfaces are currently the most applied fields of laser cleaning. The removal of floating rust requires the lowest laser power density, which can be achieved by using ultra-large energy pulsed lasers with poor beam quality or even continuous lasers. Dedensification of oxide layer generally requires the use of high power density near single-mode pulse energy of about 1.5 mJ MOPA laser. For other pollutants, the appropriate light source should be selected according to its light absorption characteristics and the difficulty of cleaning. GM-H series and GM-L series are suitable for applications of large energy coarse spots and large energy fine spots, respectively.

In addition to metal material cleaning, the custom light source developed by Light Technology can be applied to special cleaning fields such as glass cleaning. The use of conventional MOPA pulse laser to do glass cleaning, easy to cause overheating of the glass burst. With a special pulse design and high peak power, the custom light source from Light to Technology can efficiently remove paint stains from the glass surface without damaging the glass substrate. This kind of light source is also suitable for the cleaning of fine molds such as printing rollers, which ensures deep cleaning without damaging the substrate.

Laser cleaning can be installed by means of a machine or a mechanical arm, and is generally suitable for cleaning production line equipment or large components. In addition, laser cleaning usually uses a portable, hand-held cleaning head, which can be more flexible to handle special-shaped workpieces. In order to ensure heat dissipation, the isolation head of the conventional high-power MOPA pulse laser has a large size, resulting in a large size of the cleaning head, which increases the burden on the operator. To this end, Light Technology has developed a compact GMC cleaning special model series products, separating the isolation head and the collimated output head, using a more compact and compact QCS output head, making the adaptive laser cleaning head extremely lightweight and convenient.
